GENERAL
When you hire a vehicle from us like most other rental Companies in New Zealand there are basically 3 elements to the transaction. (There are NO hidden costs).
1. Daily Charge The charge for the vehicle per day that you will hire less the deposit you may have paid. The charge also includes GST (Goods and Service Tax at 12.5%); insurance, unlimited kilometres, 24 hour support, locks (if applicable), NZ road maps, accommodation guides and tourist information brochures. The total charge for the period of rental is paid at the commencement of the hire.
No refund or consideration will be given for any unused portion of the booked hire.
2. Bond You will be asked to sign a separate security BOND in the form of a credit card imprint or a deposit. The bond is held by us BUT NOT BANKED (except in the case of campervans). This is our guarantee that you will return our vehicle on time and in the condition that it was hired. Waste tanks (if applicable) must be emptied and the fuel tank at the same level as the start of the hire. The bond amount is based on the vehicle insurance excess and is detailed below in the paragraph applicable to the type of vehicle you hire.
3. CDW An optional collision damage waiver (CDW) charge is the way a hirer can reduce the insurance excess. This is charged daily and is at a rate applicable to the type of vehicle you hire as outlined below.

CANCELLATION FEE
Cancellation fees are as follows:

If cancelled more than 21 days prior to vehicle pick up – Full refund less $ 150-00
If cancelled between 7-21 days prior to vehicle pick up – Full refund less deposit
If cancelled within 7 days prior to vehicle pickup – 50% total rental fee
No show, or early return of vehicle – 100% total rental fee

INSURANCE
Rental vehicles are fully insured for damage to the vehicle or property of a third party.
The Hirer is responsible for the excess (as outlined below) of the cost to the third party property or the rented vehicle including windscreen, tyre damage, puncture repair, towing and or recovery costs resulting from an accident, break in, fire or theft or attempted theft. The excess applies to each claim (not per rental) and is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid prior to the termination of the rental agreement. Where it is clearly identified that the liability is the responsibility of a third party the excess will be refunded.

Cars, Vans and People Movers have standard Excess of $750 which can be reduced to $250 by paying a CDW (collision damage waver) of $8 per day. (windscreen insurance is not included).

Campervans have standard Excess of $3000 which can be reduced to $1000 by paying a CDW (collision damage waver) of $20 per day. (windscreen insurance is not included). This can be further reduced to a NIL Excess by payment of the figure shown in brackets. See charge tables on the campervan pages.

Road Restrictions
All vehicles may only be driven on sealed roads. It is important to understand that all Insurance Protection will automatically lapse should the vehicle be driven on any of the following roads,

Ball Hut Road Mt. Cook
Crown Range Queenstown
Ninety Mile Beach Northland
North of Colville Coromandel
Skippers Canyon Queenstown
'Or on any beach or unsealed road

All damage incurred will therefore become the responsibility of the hirer.

Rental Duration
The rental period commences from the time of pickup. Minimum rental period on all cars is 3 days and campervans is 7 days.
Vehicles are available from 8.30am until 4.00pm unless otherwise agreed. Charges for are calculated on a daily basis or part thereof.

Cars, Vans and People Movers – North Island $100, South Island $100
Campervans and Sleeper Vans– North Island $150, South Island $150

Child and Baby Seats
Child seats are compulsory on New Zealand roads for children under 5 years of age. These may be hired from us. Please order at time of reservation stating age of child so correct size may be booked. All child seats are subject to availability.

Amounts in excess of NZ $ 100-00 require authorisation. No responsibility will be accepted for any accommodation, meals or other expenses resulting from a breakdown or accident.

Any problems with the vehicle or equipment failure must be reported as soon as practicable to afford us the opportunity to rectify the problem during the term of hire. No liability will be accepted for any notifications received after the termination of the rental agreement.

Vehicle Equipment Supplied:
Living equipment for Campervans (crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils) are included in the daily rate.

Bedding – NZ $10.00 per set
Picnic Table – NZ $25.00 per hire
Colour TV – NZ $75.00 per hire
Booster Seat – NZ $15.00 per hire
